NEW REPORT – Unprotected: Severe Lack of Funding for Child Protection1 min read

Humanitarian Funding Forecast has teamed up with The Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, the Global Child Protection Area of Responsibility, and Save the Children to deliver a new report showing the worrying trends in Child Protection funding in conflict-affected areas.

Specifically, we’ve worked on looking at forecasts for Child Protection in conflict-affected areas, and the report suggests that the funding gap for child protection programmes in conflict settings will reach $1 billion by 2026.

This sits within a wider context of Child Protection programmes not being prioritised in conflict settings. Whilst humanitarian appeals overall are funded at around 60%, Child Protection programmes were funded at only 19% in 2022.
